Industry
This page lists industrial related tag usage.
It is arranged according to the economic sectors:
- Primary sector --- extraction of raw materials: mining, fishing and agriculture.
- Secondary / manufacturing sector --- concerned with producing finished goods, e.g. construction sector, manufacturing and utilities, e.g. electricity.
- Tertiary / service sector --- concerned with offering intangible goods and services to consumers, it includes retail, tourism, banking, entertainment and IT services, also including infrastructure.
- Quaternary sector --- knowledge economy, education, research and development.
One key goal is a more detailed mapping of industrial areas by using more specific tags/tag combinations.

Industrial deals and acts
In order to cross-link economic development around the globe, Mergania is looking for a way to introduce a procedure, which allows to simplify the exchange drastically. A first procedure is the international business listing, which is practicable for simple objects (where one places and tags a single node). However, over the past year, this procedure became a long list, without being used much.
Clear rules
- bilateral signement between two countries
- allows to add industry related mapping on zones already dedicated for industrial usage (e.g. by landuse=industrial)
- mapping must be of reasonable size
- industry must fit to the country, where it is mapped in
- the product=* -tag must be used to make the output clear
- using preproducts from the country itself should be preferred
- an exclude list can be added and supplemented at any time by the hosting country
