The '''World Association of Air Transport''' (WAAT), former named International Air Transport (IAT), is the body representing all world airlines. It is headquartered in [[Viljanni]].

=History=
WAAT was founded in 1932 as International Air Transport (IAT) to coordinate air transport between different airlines. In 1948 the organization moved its headquarters from [[Stanncatt]] in [[Mergany]] to [[Viljanni]].

=Headquarters=
The World Association of Air Transport's headquarters are located in Ulethaani, a central district of [[Viljanni]]. The main building from 1927 is used since 1948 by the WAAT and was remodeled and supplemented by a tower building in 1996.

=Agenda=

The organization helps to formulate industry policy and standards and supports all kinds of airline activities. Especially the early work of the WAAT was technical and provided a good basis for modern aviation. Subsequently, safety issues became also a topic of interest. Collaboration and exchange of knowledge with the leading [[List of manufacturing companies#Aircraft manufacturers|aircraft manufactureres]] like [[Aerotheon]], [[MacDougall Graham]], [[SAI|SAI Aviation]] and [[Watanabe Aerospace]] are an important aspect of the daily work. Nowadays, legal issues play a crucial role.

WAAT has a strong position since all major airlines are member. Thus the organization was able to establish global rules and prevent bilateral air transport agreements. It also provides input to the later on created [[Assembly of Nations Agency for Civil Aviation]] (ANACA).
